We never thought we would be blogging about another wedding in Toronto with Vibe365’s team since the last wedding we entertained before the Coronavirus pandemic began, but here we are!
Since the start of the pandemic, the majority of our wedding bookings have postponed their big day to 2021 in hopes of better days. Some even cancelled altogether, but a limited few had high hopes to get it done this very year.
Meet Anna and Abdul. A young energetic couple who wanted nothing more than an elegant wedding with tons of dancing. Their original wedding date was scheduled for June 2, 2020, but because of the 2020 pandemic, they were forced to reschedule.
Anna and Abdul reached out to us to change their wedding date to August. We sent them our August 2021 availability with their preferred wedding DJ and MC, to which they clarified they meant the same August that was just 2 months away from their original wedding date! We thought, “wow, that’s very optimistic!”
Nevertheless, we wanted to help the couple bring to live their dream wedding. As their wedding was a mix of Persian (Anna) and Arab (Abdul) they hired the best wedding DJ in Toronto for the job, DJ Borhan. We knew this wedding would need some changes to adhere to the new COVID-19 guidelines.
COVID-19 Guidelines for a Wedding
You keep hearing the term “the new normal” and as much as we hate it, we learned to adapt to these guidelines set out by the province of Ontario to make weddings happen safely. If you’re planning a wedding for this year, or even next year and these guidelines still exist, here are a few recommended steps you can take to make your dream wedding come true.
Reduced guests
Anna and Abdul’s wedding originally had 200 guests invited, but with the new regulations, their guest list was reduced to 50 people.
Sanitation
Have sanitation posts around where guests can sanitize their hands as the wedding progresses.
Screening
Screen your guests to make sure they are not feeling ill, have not been in contact with someone feeling ill, have not travelled, and other COVID-19 related questions.
Virus testing
While testing isn’t absolute, it is better than nothing. Guests were tested before the wedding and had to fill out a standard questionnaire.
Physical distancing
Guests were encouraged to stay 6 feet apart during the wedding ceremony and reception.
Masks
Masks are mandated indoors, so for everyone’s comfort, both the ceremony and the reception was held outside. Not only is being outdoors and under the sun’s light safer, but it has a much better vibe to it than being indoors.
Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was held at Archeo’s patio in Toronto’s distillery district. It was a beautiful, cozy gathering filled with love and joy. The guests stayed for appetizers, lunch, and speeches from the bridal party.
Wedding Reception
The wedding reception was held in a spacious backyard at a private residence. The mood was intimate, the vibe was energetic and it was the start of a beautiful night.
DJ Borhan and MC Sean rocked the night with their tunes and entertainment.
Anna and Abdul also hired traditional Arabic Zaffe drummers for their grand entrance. It was a spectacular performance.
DJ Borhan’s Instagram says it all. A beautiful, intimate wedding with your closest loved ones, great food, dancing, and tons of joy.
